Cranberry Sauce

(from Ellen via Joy of Cooking)

Wash the cranberries. Place them in a saucepan and cover with boiling water, over high heat. As soon as the water begins to boil again, cover the pan. Boil 3 or 4 minutes or until the skins burst. Drain. Puree the cranberries in a food processor and return to the saucepan. Add the sugar. Place over high heat and bring to a rolling boil. Stir about a minute and remove from heat.

Ellen tells her story: "The year after Grandpa died, I came home for Thanksgiving, and there was no cranberry sauce on the table! Mom explained, 'I thought Grandpa was the only one who ate it'." From then on, Ellen made the cranberry sauce and brought it for Thanksgiving dinner every year.
