...beloved recipes of the Gugel family
classic family favorites...
In his short life, David successfully embarked on three careers. His second career was as a professional cook. Which is pretty funny considering how little he ate as a child. He wouldn't eat anything except hot dogs, peanut butter sandwiches, and desserts until he was well into his late teens.
The recipes in this chapter are provided by Peter with whom David lived for a brief year when he was between careers and before he returned to Florida. These are all that was found in his recipe box after he died. There are surely others that he had in his head that never made it onto the paper.
David's specialties were heavily borrowed from the landmark, now classic, Dinosaur Bar-B-Que restaurant located on the banks of the beautiful Genessee River in downtown Rochester.
It was clear that David, though he lived in Florida most of his adult life, never lost sight of his Rochester roots. His recipe file held an old copy of the original Nick Tahou's Garbage Plate.
