Brown the ground beef in a pot along with the onion. Remove and mix in remaining ingredients. Bake in a casserole dish for 20 minutes in 350°F.

Anne recalls: "When I was three years old, Mom was in the hospital having David. One evening while she was there, the Great Northeast Blackout of 1965 hit. Mom had made Gugel "Goulash" for Dad to heat up for the four of us kids before she went in the hospital. But there was no electricity to heat it up, and Dad served it to us cold. I didn't like that dish much anyway, but having to eat it cold was too much!"
