“White hots” were always on the summer grill. Our Ohio relatives bought a freezer-full to take back when they visited because you can’t get them anywhere else in the country.
Microwave ovens hadn’t been invented yet. Neither had bread machines. Only rich people had dish washing machines. Ours were named Ellen, Mary, Anne, and Paul.
We drank pop, especially in the summer. It came in every color of the rainbow – orange, red, purple, lemon, and lime.
The Public Market had it all – fresh from nearby farms. Our parents, grandparents, and even great grandparents shopped there on Saturday mornings.
