Mix flour, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg. Cream butter until light and fluffy. Add sugar gradually. Add eggs, one at a time. Combine milk and flavoring. Add dry ingredients, alternating with milk. Pour into a buttered and floured 10 inch tube pan or 9 inch bundt pan or small loaf pans. Bake at 300°F for 1 hour 20 minutes for a tube pan, 1 hour 10 minutes for a bundt pan, or 45 minutes for small loaf pans.
