"Snack" (Chex Mix)

(from Marcia Jeary Belois - our Babysitter)

1/4 lb. butter or margarine
4 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
2 cups each of Corn Chex and Rice Chex (or 4 cups of one kind)
2 cups Cheerios
peanuts (any amount)
thin pretzel sticks (any amount)

Melt the butter in the over at 250°F in a large baking pan big enough to hold all the ingredients. When the butter has melted, mix everything else in thoroughly and return to the oven. Bake about an hour, stirring every 15 minutes.

Once Marcia the Babysitter gave us this recipe, we never stopped making it, especially at Christmas, for summer vacations in the Thousand Islands, and other family gatherings. David made a lot of it. It’s still the best Chex Mix recipe out there. No other comes close.
