My Approach
I don’t want to waste my time or yours – or your money – developing proposals with little chance for funding. I'll be upfront with you about the chances of your program or project being funded by a particular grantmaker, and the effort demanded.
I apply a risk management approach to fundraising, considering the likeliness of winning a grant, the effort involved in preparing the request, organizational readiness and positioning, and competition. I take into account the level of funding available versus the effort involved in the application. Timing and deadlines are also a factor in recommending a schedule of funders.

Years of experience working with foundations and interpreting guidelines, analyzing past grantee awards and speaking directly with funders enables me to offer your organization the best possible chance of funding. Don’t waste precious time and money seeking funds where there is little hope of success. I can develop a grants research report and funding plan that will provide your organization with a roadmap for successful grant seeking, taking into account the cost of pursuing grants versus the likelihood of success. Tens of thousands of grant makers give money to charities every year. Private foundations in the U.S. numbered 86,192 in 2012 according to the Foundation Center's Key Facts on U.S. Foundations 2014. That’s more than double the number that existed less than 20 years ago in 1995 when there were about 40,000. And just between 2008 and 2012, over 10,000 new foundations came into existence. And that’s merely private U.S. foundations. In addition, there are thousands of government grant programs at the federal and state levels, international foundations, and corporate giving programs. Grants & More can sort through the confusing landscape of funders to bring clarity and a plan.
Many organizations have strategic plans, but fewer have integrated fundraising plans. I can help your organization create a plan to diversify and increase your funding, and includes individual giving, major donors, membership, corporate and foundation support, events, planned giving, capital campaigns, and more.
